About The Hillsborough Hogs

Triangle Youth Hockey of North Carolina (TYHNC), also known as the Hillsborough Hogs, is a nonprofit organization in Hillsborough, NC promoting and sponsoring youth hockey. Established in 1980, we are the original, longest-running youth hockey organization in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area). Hillsborough Hogs members range from ages 6 to 18. We offer a wide range of youth hockey programs including beginner skills clinics, house league teams, and advanced travel level teams. In addition to our traditional fall/winter hockey season, we offer spring and summer hockey opportunities.  We are entirely volunteer run and our experienced coaching staff are all USA Hockey Certified.

Choosing a House vs. Travel LeagueThe benefit of joining the Hillsborough Hogs is we have teams for multiple skill levels.  For our 10U through 18U age groups, we partner with the Polar Hurricanes House League to create a House and Advanced House division within each age group.

House Division is for less experienced players to enjoy playing hockey with kids of a similar skillset.

Advanced House Division is for more experienced players that have the desire and ability to play at a more competitive level.  This is approximately equal to a travel A/B skill level.  It is essentially travel level hockey without the actual travel or the price tag of a travel hockey organization.
