Hillsborough Hogs - 2023-24 Season Information

The Hillsborough Hogs are looking forward to another great hockey season! Registration will open in June. Please see below some helpful information about the upcoming Hogs season:

What's New:

  • In our continued partnership with the PHHL, we will transition from 15u & 18u age groups to 14U, 16U & 18U. We're confident this will foster tighter competition, better skill development and a better experience for our teenage players. Below are the birth years in each group for reference.
  • Assuming the same strong registration volume as last season, we will field one advanced team in 10U and 2 advanced teams in each of our 12U and 14U age groups.  In addition Hillsborough Hogs will be fielding tournament teams to compete with A and B level travel teams. Players are also eligible to join Polar's House Select Tournament teams.
  • Goaltenders are the foundation of any successful hockey team. To better support this key position, the Hogs are offering a $250 rebate for goalies in our 10U - 18U age groups who commit to tending goal in at least 50% of games. In addition, we will provide goalie-specific clinics throughout the season. Spots are limited so please communicate your interest to our hockey director, Chris Bolduc
  • We are increasing the number of practices for our 6U and 8U players. With a minimal increase in cost, our "Mighty Mites" will receive at least 6 practices per month led by our experienced, USA Hockey certified coaching staff.
  • For our newer hockey families, we have added an Hockey FAQs section to our site including some information about house vs. travel hockey. Our coaches, team managers and board members are also happy to answer any questions.

Practices and Pricing -

A TOP HOCKEY VALUE in the State!

6U/8U and 14U will have one dedicated practice every week plus another every other week for approx. 6 practices per month excluding holidays.

What's Not Changing:

  • Payment plans and financial aid are available with our registration. We will work with families to make ice hockey as affordable as possible.
  • Our 6U and 8U will continue to participate in jamborees and our new "mini-house league" with Greensboro and Winston Salem.
  • All practices and games will continue to be led by our experienced USA Hockey certified coaching staff.
  • The Hogs will continue to host special events throughout the season including "Meet Your Coach" parties and our famous "Holiday Hootenanny"

Please look for additional messages about our upcoming season. Thank you for continued support in the Hillsborough Hogs!
