Sportsplex Rink Remains Closed

Sep 28th update on Practice ice and Rink:

Sportsplex management communicated that the OC Sportsplex rink is now expected to be open mid day 01-Oct. Please see their site for any changes in status:

There are no practices Sep 29 and 30th.  We will communicate out once we have confirmation from the Sportsplex that we can resume regular practice schedules.

Teams Now In SE

We have set preliminary team rosters.  Based on the first week of practices, previous seasons and other factors, we created preliminary teams in order to roster them for their first games. We realize this is not an ideal method and we will certainly modify as necessary once we're back on the ice. The head coach for your team will be reaching out within the next few days to introduce themselves and other coaching staff.  Coaches may also schedule some off-ice practices throughout the week.  This is a great opportunity for our players to meet their teammates, learn some hockey skills and have some fun.

Be sure to utilize the SE Mobile app to keep up to date regarding games and practices.

Ordered Jerseys?

If you ordered a new Hogs Jersey, the initial order of jerseys has arrived. We will provide them to Head Coach/Team Manager so that players have them for the first game.

For the limited few who registered later we are still awaiting those jerseys to arrive. They may not arrive before the first game. Coaches will be provided with alternative jerseys so that players can wear those for the first game.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Tom Deis or Mark Bedell.

Welcome to the Hogs 2022 / 23 Hogs Season

Registration for our 2022/23 Hogs season is now closed.  Please contact Tom Deis at for more information about registering for 6U/8U.  All other age groups are sold out.

Here is the Planned practice schedule. Team calendars will reflect the final schedule once available.

For 6u-8u, events will be 1-2 hours with multiple cross-ice games in each. They will mostly be at Orange County Sportsplex, Greensboro Ice House or Winston Salem Fairgrounds.  Each cross-ice game will be 15-20 minutes.  Overall, 6U and 8U players can expect to receive approx. 35 hours of total ice time (games + practices).

For 10u-18u, we partner with the Polar Hurricanes House League for the season, so most games will be in Wake County with some home games at Sportsplex.

Meet Your Coach Day  On the afternoon of September 11, just following team selection announcements, the Hogs will host a "Meet Your Coach" event in the parking lot, behind Sportsplex.  The Hogs board will briefly speak about our program and upcoming season. Then players and parents of each team can meet their coach.  We will supply drinks and snacks.  We will also have Hogs apparel on hand for purchase.   More details to come, but please mark this event on your calendars.
